HAMLET — Mrs. Lois Hailey Brown, 73, of Silver Run Drive, Hamlet, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Aug. 25, 2021 at Duke University Hospital in Durham after an illness.
She was born in Moore County on April 5, 1948, daughter of the late John N. Hailey Sr. and Emma Norton Hailey.
Mrs. Brown was a faithful member of King’s Gate Church in Rockingham and was retired from Sarah Lee as a lead operator. She enjoyed cooking, eating flounder, spending time with her family, and loved music. She will be remembered as a cheerful, caring and amazing friend.
Visitation will be Saturday, Aug. 28, 2021 at Harrington Funeral Home from noon-1:30 p.m.
Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at Richmond Memorial Park, with Apostle Eddie McLean officiating. Burial will follow.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; her husband, Lee Roy Brown (August 2016); a son, Junior Taylor; a brother, Johnny Hailey; and a sister, Beaulah Furr.
Survivors include her sisters, Mary O’Connell of Panama City, Florida and Sally Hailey of Laurinburg; two grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Taylor; one great-granddaughter, Mattie Taylor; two nephews, Andy Furr of Raleigh and Roger Hailey of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; and by special friends, Alice Locklear and Patsy Taylor.
