ROCKINGHAM — Mary Sue Butler, 78, of Rockingham passed on from this life into her Lord’s presence early Monday morning, Dec. 28, 2020 at Kingswood Nursing Center of Aberdeen, where she was lovingly cared for by nurses and staff during her illness.

Sue was born Feb. 3, 1942 in Bennettsville, South Carolina to the late Hickman and Betty Euzeal Butler and grew up in Dillon, South Carolina.

In 1990, Sue moved to Rockingham to live with her sister and brother-in-law, Everett and Polly Kiker.  

Sue was actively involved in her God’s Rainbows Special Ed Class at Pine Grove Baptist Church. She loved her Jesus and Sunday school teachers, Patsy, Donna and Angela. Sue was a friend to all and always loved giving hugs.

A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery in Dillon, South Carolina. Due to COVID-19, please wear a face mask and continue social distancing.

Sue is survived by her sister, Polly Kay Kiker, and brother-in-law, Everett Kiker, and several cousins. 

There will be a register book for you to stop by and sign at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham from 9:30 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday. 

Memorials may be made in memory of Sue to Pine Grove Baptist Church to the Mission or Benevolent Fund, 275 Airport Road, Rockingham, N.C.
