OBITUARY: Ann Ardis Martin

Ann Ardis Martin, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, departed this life at the age of 80 on Feb. 13, 2024, the day of her 60th wedding anniversary.

The daughter of the late Robert B. Ardis and Zellie Martin Ardis, Ann was born on Dec. 12, 1943.

Ann is most remembered for her many years spent as the secretary to the principal at Richmond Senior High School. She enjoyed family trips to the beach and playing cards with her card club family.

Ann was a devoted member to All Saints Episcopal Church in Hamlet.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 60 years, C. Arthur Martin of the home; daughters, Cherie M. Deese (Tommy) of Rockingham and Chris M. Henson (Greg) of Hamlet; son, John L. Martin (Tracy) of Laurinburg; grandchildren, Elizabeth Davenport (T.J.), Christin Deese (Tyler), Mckenzie Henson (Matt), Amber Henson, Jake Martin (Kaitlin), Grey Martin (Haley) and Anna Glassen; great-grandchildren, Addison Davenport and Monroe Martin; and a sister, Bonnie Harper.

The family will receive friends at the home of 224 Minturn Ave., Hamlet.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Richmond County Hospice, Rockingham; Hamlet Rescue, Hamlet; and All Saints Episcopal Church, Hamlet.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be held at a later date.
