Daniel Wayne Butler, 51, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Feb. 12, 2024 at Richmond County Hospice Haven.
He was born Aug. 16, 1972, in Richmond County, son of Clarence Dillin Butler Jr. and the late Carol Currie Butler.
Daniel previously worked in construction. He was quite the jokester and loved to make everyone laugh. His smile carried for miles. Daniel loved being outdoors. He dearly loved his family and treated Mary Ann like a queen. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Currie Butler; brother, Billy Joe Butler; grandparents, Clarence Sr. and Hazel Butler, and Floyd and Lena Currie.
Daniel is survived by his significant other, Mary Ann Jeffery of the home; children, Cleveland Dalton Butler and Carolynn Danielle “Dani” Davis, both of Ellerbe; father, Clarence Dillin Butler Jr. of Rockingham; great-grandmother, Louise Cowick; grandchildren, Johnathan Chase Davis, Joseph Myles Davis and Isabella Brenda Davis; brother, Robert Lee Butler of Rockingham; sister, Deana Singletary (Chris) of Rockingham; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at Zion Circle Church.
The funeral service will begin, immediately following the visitation, at 2 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Marty Butler and Crystal Brooks officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
