Donald “Don” Spivey, 84, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024.
Don was born Sept. 11, 1939 and was a son of the late Edward and Lucille Spivey.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by wife Billie Burney Spivey; daughter Lucy; and his sister Hilda Reed.
Don is survived by his daughter, Margaret Mattera (Paul); grandchildren, Ella Mattera, Gia Mattera, Julia Mattera, Amalia Mattera (also called the quartet by their pop pop) and Clayton Baker. He is also survived by his brother, Jim Spivey and wife Janice; and a host of friends.
Family will receive friends for visitation Monday, Feb. 19, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with James Mims officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made out to Samaritan’s Purse.
