Linda Wright Smith, 77, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Sept. 15, 2023 at her residence.
She was born Aug. 25, 1946, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Joseph Cameron Wright and Lillie Mae Wright.
Linda worked as a home health aide, retiring with Richmond County Aging Services after more than 14 years. She enjoyed her work and was dedicated and hard-working. She was an amazing lady; caring, giving, and would offer the shirt off of her back to anyone in need. She enjoyed feeding and watching her squirrels and birds, especially the hummingbirds.
Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved God, her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Dale Smith; sisters, Betty McDaniel, Alma Venos, Ruth Culley, Katie English, and Winfred Wright; and brothers, Alton Wright, Joe Cameron Wright, and Robert Lee Wright.
She is survived by her daughter, Denise Stuart (Kenny) of Hamlet; grandchildren, Sherman Dula, Cameron Dula, Selina Martinez, and Melina Martinez; five great-grandchildren; and her sister, Juanita Hartsell of Albemarle.
All services will be held privately by the family.
