CORDOVA — Michael Andrew “Drew” Goodwin, 23, of Cordova, completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023.
Drew was born June 3, 1999, in Nash County, a son of James Richard Goodwin Jr. and Mary Beth Smith Goodwin.
He had worked with Osmose Utility Service and Elliott’s Catering. He spent 18 months at Cameron Boys Camp, during which time he developed a love for woodcarving, especially spoons. He also enjoyed fishing. Drew had a very kind heart and if he loved you, it was with every bit of it. He will always be remembered for his big smile and childlike joy.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James Richard and Susie W. Goodwin.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, James Richard Jr and Mary Beth Goodwin; siblings, Palmer Goodwin (Kaitlyn) and Lauren Coxe (Johnny); nephew, Bowen Goodwin; maternal grandparents, Allen and Shirley Smith; aunts, Wanda Wood (Mitchell) and Cindy Dycus (Randy); cousin, Tristan Dycus; and a host of friends and extended family.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, 2023 at Beverly Hills Baptist Church with the Rev. Jack Lee and the Rev. Michael Staton officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 12:45 -1:45 p.m. Monday at the church and at other times at the home.
