Nancy Horne Roberts, 71, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst.
She was born March 8, 1953, in Richmond County, daughter of the late Curtis James Horne and Lucy Ellen Quick Horne.
Nancy attended Sweet Haven Church, Rockingham. She loved Elvis and his music and enjoyed dancing. She also enjoyed spending time at the beach. Nancy, in prior years, was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a strong-willed lady and had lots of friends. To her family, she was a thoughtful, loving mother and grandmother.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Edwin Roberts.
Nancy is survived by her children, Sharon “Shae” Roberts and Mark Roberts (Dawn), both of Rockingham; grandson, Justin Roberts (Miranda McAuley) of Goldsboro; sister, Brenda Ayers of Rockingham; best friends, Luna Watson, Sally Jenkins, and many others; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home, Hamlet.
A Celebration of Life service will begin following the visitation, beginning at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Harrington Funeral Home with Pastor Kane McKenzie officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond County Memorial Park.
At other times, the family will receive friends at the home of her son, Mark, 1129 Battley Dairy Road, Rockingham.
