Richard Lee Freeman Sr.

HAMLET — Richard Lee Freeman Sr., 78, of Eddie’s Lane, Hamlet, passed away Friday, Nov. 12, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Freeman was born April 22, 1943, son of Robard Franklin Freeman and Bessie Lee Blue.  

Richard worked most of his career as a truck driver, working for highway construction. He and his wife, Linda, were married for 53 years. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He and Linda spent many years enjoying time at flea markets. His sense of humor was well-known by those who knew him. He was a great man and will be missed by his family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; daughters, Samantha Langley and Kimberly Freeman; son-in-law, Steven Langley; and brothers, Robert Blue and Harvey Freeman.

Mr. Freeman is survived by his loving wife, Linda Brigman Freeman, of the home; sons, Richie Freeman (Susan) of Rockingham and Brandon Langley (Heather) of Hamlet; daughter-in-law, Brenda Leviner of Hamlet; grandchildren, Dylan Freeman (Laura) and Zach Freeman; great-grandchildren, Samantha, Brandon, and Anna Langley; and sisters, Mae Ussery of Greensboro and Shirley Stidd of Arizona.

A visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home Chapel.

A Celebration of Life service will be held private with immediate family.
