BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. — Richard Sturdivant Jr., 54, of Bennettsville, South Carolina, passed away Monday, Dec. 13, 2021 at his home.
He was born March 17, 1967 in Richmond County, a son of the late Richard Sturdivant Sr. and Linda Steen Sturdivant.
He graduated from Wallace High School and served in the U.S. Navy. He worked several years at Fruit of Loom and enjoyed watching any sport, especially the Clemson Tigers.
A memorial service will be conducted Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet with military honors with Pastor Jamie English officiating.
Surviving, his sister, Kimberly Whitehead and husband Johnathan of North, South Carolina; a brother, Robert Sturdivant of North, South Carolina; two nieces, Samantha Jones (Craig) Broadway, Virginia, and Amanda Whitehead of Saint Matthews, South Carolina; and 16 aunts and uncles.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
