ROCKINGHAM — Roy Charles Lisenby, 86, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021 at Hospice House, Pinehurst.
He was born in Scotland County, Jan. 26, 1935, son of Zeb Vance Lisenby Sr. and Ebbie Wright Lisenby.
Roy was a carpenter by trade and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He enjoyed sitting on his porch and visiting with his friends and his favorite pastime was fishing.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Lighthouse Ministries Church Cemetery, Hwy. 177, Wallace, SC 29596.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Gainey Lisenby; brothers, Zeb V. Lisenby Jr. and Bobby Lisenby; sisters, Mary Frances Cox and Shirley Plummer; and a niece, Brenda Hildreth.
Survivors include, sister, Patsy Becher of Rockingham; nieces, Sally Cooper of Wallace, South Carolina and Edna Sheperd of Virginia; nephews, Charles Cox, Everette Cox, David Cox and Edward Cox, all of Wallace, South Carolina, Zeb Cox of Laurel Hill and Gene Cox of Rockingham.
