Violet Yost Arnold

HAMLET—Violet Yost Arnold, 95, of Hamlet, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Dec. 27, 2021 at Hospice Haven.

She was born Jan. 3, 1926 in Ohio, daughter of the late Richard Yost and Lida Lewis Yost.

Violet was a kind and gentle spirit who saw God in nature and all living things. Those who loved her knew she was bashful, like an unopened flower, all it’s beauty within. She loved her family, flowers, bird watching, her animals, but most of all Jesus and her church. She was a faithful and devoted member of Calvary Baptist Church of Hamlet for over 59 years. Her love and adoration for Christ, along with her generous and charitable heart, made her a true child of God.

Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, Isaiah 40:8: “The grass withers, the flowers fade, but the word of our God will stand forever.”

Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cyril Jason Arnold; son, Ronald Arnold; brothers, Kenny Yost and Roy Yost; and sister, Dorothy Wilt.

She is survived by her daughters, Janet Arnold Armstrong and Jean Arnold Hammond, both of Spring, Texas; son, Dr. David Arnold (Katherine) of Rockingham; daughter-in-law, Lisa Arnold of Guam; brother, Richard Yost of Leonardtown, Maryland; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
