ROCKINGHAM — Wayne Dawkins, 71, of Rockingham passed away Monday, Nov. 30, 2020 at his home.
He was born Oct. 21, 1949 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Linwood and Lila Chappell Dawkins.
Wayne graduated from Rockingham High School and was the owner and operator of Wayne’s Decorating.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane Thrower Dawkins; and a brother, Clay Dawkins.
A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020 at 2 p.m. at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with the Rev. Phil Joines officiating. Due to COVID-19, please wear a mask and continue to social distance.
Surviving are his siblings, Ann Dennis and husband Dean of Ellerbe, Barry Dawkins and wife Pam of Ellerbe, and Tim Dawkins and wife Susan of Rockingham; several nephews; and a special friend, Ginger McLain.
