HAMLET — Police have accused a man of covertly taking photos of two underage girls.

An arrest warrant, issued to the Hamlet Police Department, alleges that 36-year-old Jeffrey Lee Pyle used a cellphone to take photos of “the private area of an individual’s body” without her consent “for sexual gratification.”

The photos were reportedly taken Aug. 17, 2025. Police say both girls were under the age of 18 at the time.

The warrant, charging Pyle with four counts of felony secret peeping, was issued June 11 and he was taken into custody on June 18.

Pyle was booked into the Richmond County Jail on a $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court July 9.

A release order prohibits Pyle from having contact with the reported victims.

The order also notes that Pyle is originally from Idaho prior to moving to North Carolina.

Records appear to show Pyle has no other pending charges or prior criminal convictions in North Carolina.

All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
