ROCKINGHAM — Six Richmond Raider basketball players were celebrated in front of a large crowd Monday.

Before the team’s overtime win over Southern Lee High School, the Raiders took time to recognize this season’s senior players.

Seniors included Keyonta Davis, Tyshawn Harris, Davion Ingram, Zyonn Mason, Ahaiver McDonald and Ali Tyson.

Walked to half court by family members and teammates, the future plans of each senior were read out by public address announcer Arthur Gilliam.

Each player was presented with a poster of himself with an action shot from a game this season. Meeting players at half court was head coach Donald Pettigrew and several assistant coaches.

Davis, Ingram and McDonald all capped four-year playing careers with the Raiders. All three of them spent two full seasons at the varsity level, becoming starters.

Harris played varsity the past two seasons, while this winter was the first varsity season for Mason and Tyson.

The Raiders also recognized their senior manager A’mionne Ellerbe. Fellow manager Jason Lee wasn't present Monday.
