ROCKINGHAM — The charity ride season is kick-starting early in 2026.

Playaz Elite M.C. is hosting a ride Saturday, Jan. 17 to benefit 15-year-old Addie Moore, who has a malignant rhabdoid tumor.

Proceeds will go toward the family’s medical and travel expenses, according to club members.

Registration is from 11 a.m.-noon at Double Vision, with kickstands going up at 1 p.m. The fee to ride is $15 for singles and $20 for doubles. The event will also include a 50/50 raffle and door prizes, and food will be served following the ride.

For non-riders, donations can also be made at Smith Optometric in Rockingham.

Last April, Playaz Elite hosted a ride to raise money for a scholarship in memory of De’Marion Latrell “Duna” Davis, of Hamlet, and Malik Keysean Ellerbe, of Rockingham, both 17, who were killed at the 74 Car Wash on East Broad Avenue — across the street — on Nov. 28, 2021.

The club has also participated in a number of rides in Richmond County that have brought in tens of thousands of dollars over the past several years for various causes, as well as to help individuals with hardships.
