ROCKINGHAM — The risk of wet weather has led to a late start of the Plaza Jam summer concert series.

City Events Coordinator Kim Williams announced that the Embers concert slated for this Thursday, has been moved to Thursday, May 21.

The forecast from the National Weather Service, at the time of this writing, is calling for a chance of showers and thunderstorms throughout the day, with up to an inch of rain expected to fall within the next 24 hours.

Plaza Jam is a free concert series held at Rockingham’s Cole Plaza, generally on the first Thursday from May-October.

In addition to this month’s performance by the legendary Embers, featuring Craig Woolard, other performances for 2026 include Chocolate Chip and Company, Gary Lowder and Smokin’ Hot, the Blackwater Band, the Tams and Too Much Sylvia.
