ROCKINGHAM — A woman is facing multiple felony charges after allegedly stealing guns and pawning them.
According to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, 51-year-old Lisa Knight Young, of Marston, stole three firearms — a Winchester 1904 .22-caliber rifle, a Stevens Model 94 Series K 20-gauge shotgun and a Remington 1100 semi-automatic 20-gauge shotgun — on Sept. 1, 2025.
Young allegedly sold all three to Broad Street Jewelry and Loan in Rockingham for $225.
The sheriff’s office says property crimes investigators from the Criminal Investigations Division “have been dedicated to this case since its inception” on Oct. 6, 2025.
Warrants were issued on Dec. 31 and Young was arrested Jan. 2.
She is charged with three felony counts of larceny of a firearm, and one felony count each of obtaining property by false pretenses and possession of a firearm by a felon.
Court records show Young was given a $15,000 secured bond but released on bail the same day of her arrest. She is scheduled to appear in court Jan. 21.
According to a release order, Young is prohibited from possessing a firearm or being on the pawn shop’s property.
Records with the N.C. Department of Adult Correction show Young is currently on probation from October 2025 convictions of driving while impaired in both Richmond and Scotland counties.
Young also has the following prior convictions:
(All charges in Richmond County except where noted.)
1995 - driving while impaired
1998 - driving while impaired
2001 - driving while license revoked
2004 - speeding to elude arrest, driving while license revoked, speeding, failing to stop at an intersection with flashing lights, resisting a public officer, reckless driving, failing to heed a light or siren (Scotland County); possession of drug paraphernalia

(NOTE: There appears to be a discrepancy in Young’s birth date in state records. NCDAC records show one date, while some corresponding court records show the same date listed with the current charges.)
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
