Edward Michael Brewer, 70, of Lexington, South Carolina, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Lexington Medical Center, W. Columbia, South Carolina.
He was born Dec. 9, 1953, son of the late Edward Russell Brewer and Betty Lou Little Garris.
Mr. Brewer was a veteran of the United States Army. To know him, he had the kindest heart for others. He was always willing to help his elderly neighbors with yard work when needed. During Thanksgiving and Christmas, he loved to cook, and bake his own recipe of strawberry cheesecake, and then take to neighbors who were less fortunate than he.
From his loving sister, Debbie: “Life is changing fast from day to day, but the love and memory of you, my brother, shall never pass away.”
Along with his father and mother, Mr. Brewer is preceded in death by his brother, Steven R. Brewer.
Left to cherish his memories are his son, Michael Jay Brewer and wife Jennifer, of Ohio; grandchildren, Tyler Jordan Nesta Brewer and Madelynn Jayne Day Brewer; stepfather, Jerry Garris; sister, Debra McIver and husband Steve, of Hamlet; nephews, Reid McIver and wife Jennifer, and Tracy McIver and wife Andrea; and grand-nephews and niece, Wallace McIver, Kainen McIver and Emily McIver.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024 at First Baptist Church, Rockingham, with the Rev. Jack Lee officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
