Recently, The Richmond Observer published an article highlighting fact checks that were reported by WBT, Charlotte’s Mark Garrison. The fact checks were completed on claims made by a television ad created by the Robert Pittenger Campaign. The fact checks were subsequently refuted by the Pittenger Campaign Camp as inaccurate. As of Tuesday, the RO was made aware that the link to the fact check on WBT’s website has been removed. The Richmond Observer article was based on the WBT report and has therefore been removed from our site as well.
In a Pittenger campaign news release titled Harris Campaign of Deception Exposed published on Tuesday, Team Pittenger said, “Today the Pittenger campaign is grateful to WBT radio for pulling from their website and content the false supposed “fact check” from Mark Garrison on Congressman Pittenger’s television ad. When faced with the facts the station chose to pull Mr. Garrison’s false reporting. See for yourself here.”
Additionally, the news release stated, “With a 97% record voting with the President, Congressman Robert Pittenger is the only candidate with a clear commitment of support for the President and his agenda for America.”
Team Pittenger offered the following evidence to challenge the WBT fact check:
