Hamlet Police still investigating triple shooting

HAMLET — Investigators are still seeking information related to a triple shooting that left one man dead.

Officers with the Hamlet Police Department reportedly found three men with gunshot wounds on Monroe Avenue around 9:30 p.m. July 27.

All three were taken for treatment to an undisclosed hospital for treatment. One of the victims later died from his injuries, investigators said.

The N.C. State Bureau of Investigation is assisting in the case.

That was the second triple shooting in Hamlet this year. The first, which happened on Thomas Street on May 7, is now being investigated by the SBI, according to investigators.
