ROCKINGHAM – Two Hawk Employment Services, located at 801 East Broad Street, Suite 19 in Rockingham, was officially welcomed by the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce with a ribbon cutting ceremony on the afternoon of Thursday, July 19. A group of more than 30 community members and company officials was present for the event. The corporate office is located in Lumberton, with other branches located in Bessemer City and Greensboro.

The office itself is very spacious, with office areas for the employment specialists, plenty of work tables, and computer work stations for testing. The Rockingham branch manager is Deland Locklear, and Dale Scott is the receptionist. Other staff include Ryan Scott, Data Clerk; and Gina Williams, Placement Specialist. Lumberton staff at the ceremony included Martha Singletary, Branch Manager; Harriet Johnson, Human Resources; Albert Perkins, Placement Specialist; Jay Humphrey, Marketing; Jill Britt, Corporate CEO; Edna Todd, Corporate Recruiter; Roger Godwin; and Two Hawk Employment Services owner Harvey Godwin.

Emily Tucker, President of the Richmond County Chamber of Commerce, welcomed Two Hawk to Rockingham, saying “The timing couldn’t be better for you to come to Richmond County. Recruiting is difficult, and we are struggling to fill positions for many jobs. There are lots of opportunities, lots of jobs in our community. Let the Chamber know if we can help you in any way.” RCCC Chairman Ken Hartley also welcomed the company, stressing appreciation for the services that will be provided to assist people in the community with job placement.

John Hutchinson, Mayor Pro Tem of Rockingham said, “We are delighted to have you here in Rockingham and we want you to partner with our other businesses. We appreciate what you are doing.” Albert Perkins of the Lumberton Two Hawk office delivered the invocation, expressing thanks for the creation of the family, and the heart and passion of Two Hawk Employment Services centers around its passion for helping families.

John Garner, owner of Convenience Corner in Hamlet and Vice Chairman of the Richmond County Board of Commissioners, also expressed thanks, recalling the down time in the economy in 2008. He said, “We need your help! We have people that need to work, but they need help.”

Harvey Godwin is the owner of Two Hawk Employment Services, since May of 1999. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina-Pembroke. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Lumberton Area Chamber of Commerce, The Lumber River Workforce Development Board, and also serves on the North Carolina Workforce Development Board Association. Godwin has over 25 years of managerial and executive positions in North Carolina.

Mr. Godwin shared that he believes everyone is important. He has seen the hardships of people affected by incarceration, as well as the opioid crisis. They need someone to give them a chance. He continued, “God has blessed me in so many ways.”

The motto of the company “WRONG FAILS…RIGHT PREVAILS” came to him while he was driving a 4-wheel rental vehicle through a Kansas snowstorm. While listening to the radio, Godwin heard a poem written by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow about a grim time during the Civil War. From his interpretation of the poem, he felt it was saying that “right always prevails.” He believes in doing things the right way. Mr. Godwin closed by saying, “I love what I do. We help people get employed, ones that need jobs, and those that are working, better jobs.”

The group then moved outside for the ribbon cutting ceremony. The huge scissors were held by Harvey Godwin, and he cut through the red ribbon quite easily. Afterwards, refreshments were served, including a large sheet cake saying “Congratulations,” punch, mints, and nuts. Some staff that are already employed through Two Hawk came in to pick up their paychecks, and business continued as usual, the phone ringing and Dale answering.

If you are looking for an employment agency that has your best interest in mind and has a fresh new perspective on employment with companies in Richmond County as well as other areas of North Carolina, drop by to see the staff at Two Hawk Employment Services, 801 East Broad Street, Suite 19 in Rockingham, NC. They will be happy to see you and work with you, to find a job that meets your skills and qualifications.
