Ellerbe man charged in Scotland County vice roundup

LAURINBURG — A Richmond County man is one of 18 people recently charged by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office on drug or vice-related offenses following a two-month undercover investigation, WPDE reports.

Tyrone Allen Jones, of Robinson Avenue in Ellerbe, is charged with one count each of promoting a sweepstakes business, conducting an electronic server-based entertainment game and possession of a slot machine. All charges are misdemeanors.

Jones was also cited for a Laurinburg planning/zoning violation.

He is scheduled to appear in Scotland County court on Feb. 20.

Keisha Lingelbach of Laurinburg is facing the same charges as Jones.

Most of the remaining defendants are from Laurinburg or Laurel Hill, aside from two individuals from Durham. They face a variety of drug charges including possession of crack cocaine and methamphetamine.

One of those arrested in the sweep also had a fugitive warrant for a narcotics violation in Missouri.

Records with the North Carolina Court System and the N.C. Department of Public Safety Division of Adult Correction show Jones has no other pending charges or previous convictions in the state.
