Hamlet Police Escalate Drug Arrests

HAMLET – The Hamlet Police Department is making a concerted effort to intercede in the ever-present drug trade operations within the town. 

As part of this ongoing focus, three significant drug arrests were made recently. 

John Gribbins, 40, of 164 Mill Road, Rockingham, was arrested and charged with felony possession of cocaine; possession of drug paraphernalia; carrying a concealed gun after consuming an impairing substance; carrying a concealed weapon; maintaining a vehicle for drug use; injury to personal property; two (2) counts of resisting a public officer.  Gribbins was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a $20,000 secured bond with a trial date of March 22nd. 

Bryman Gomez, 29, of 144 Glenmore Drive, Rockingham, was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia; maintaining a vehicle for drug use; possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana; and possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine.  Gomez was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a $7500 secured bond with a trial date of March 22nd.

James Tyson McLean, 38, of 171 Fairway Drive, Rockingham, was arrested and charged with felonious possession of methamphetamine; misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia; and, from a previous warrant, failure to appear in court.  McLean was processed into the Richmond County Jail under a $2000 secured bond with a trial date of March 22nd. 

All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
