HAMLET — Police have released surveillance video related to the theft of a local band’s equipment trailer.

Early Monday afternoon, the Hamlet Police Department posted a video to its Facebook page showing the Ponder Project’s equipment trailer being pulled by a dark colored pickup truck down Main Street.

Capt. Randy Dover said the video is from the Depot. (Scroll to the bottom of this page to watch the video.)

Dover said witnesses reported seeing the truck hauling the trailer around 1:30 a.m., heading toward N.C. 38.

The truck is a dual-cab, short-bed pickup. Investigators have not yet determined the make and model.

Band members say the trailer was still loaded from the previous weekend’s gig at Lake Tillery since they have a show scheduled for this Friday at Hudson Brother’s Deli.

The trailer is white with the word “PONDER” in blue letters with a drop-shadow on both sides.

The band is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the trailer and its contents.

News of the trailer’s theft spread quickly Sunday evening with fellow musicians from the county and the region, as well as fans and friends sharing the post on social media.

Anyone with information on its location or where it may have been seen is encouraged to call the Hamlet Police Department at 910-582-2551, Richmond County Crime Stoppers at 910-997-5454 or your local law enforcement agency.
