The Lumber River Council of Governments Area Agency in partnership with Richmond County Aging Services worked diligently since 2017 to establish a dementia friendly community in Richmond County. Since that time, Richmond County’s Dementia Friendly Community has provided numerous training and educational programs to businesses, organizations, and the general public to educate people with dementia, their care partners and families from diagnosis through disease progression.

Richmond County currently has six volunteer certified instructors, referred to as Dementia Champions, and 283 dementia friends.

Registration for this event is strongly suggested to ensure space for all attendees. Sign up online at www.richmondnc.com/245/Aging-Services or by calling 910-997-4491.
