11 wrestlers earn medals at Bulldog Brawl

THOMASVILLE, N.C. — The Real Wrestlers Real Heroes Wrestling Club took 21 wrestlers to compete in the Bulldog Brawl tournament at Thomasville High School on Saturday.

An impressive 11 wrestlers came home with medals, including three first-place winners. 

Winning their respective weight classes were Jakaydon Ivery (elementary, 95 pounds), Isaac Nunley (elementary, 125 pounds) and Gregory Estridge (bantom, 75 pounds).

Taking second overall were K’Mauri Morgan (high school, 220 pounds), Mary Williams (girls, 185 pounds), Shia Lloyd (girls, 138 pounds), Lane Cipriani (middle school, 132 pounds) and Rasheem Williams (elementary, 125 pounds).

Finishing out the podium performances in third place were Lyric Bingham (girls, 107 pounds), Marcus Pyatt (elementary, 95 pounds) and Hayden Woolard (middle school, 220 pounds).

The RWRH wrestling club will compete again on Saturday, April 15, at Eastern Guilford High School. The next practice will be a scrimmage at Eye on the Prize Club in Randleman, N.C., on Thursday, April 13. 

Anyone interested in signing up to wrestle, the next sign up date will be Sunday, April 23, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Richmond County Ninth Grade Academy.
