“ON THE COURT” WITH BREE WALL

Wall and the Lady Raiders played two games last week, rounding out their holiday break with a win over Anson High School and a tough loss to conference opponent Jack Britt High School.

Against the Lady Bearcats, Richmond rolled to a 60-32 win, making it the third time this season the Lady Raiders defeated Anson. Wall was one of three double-digit scorers for the home team, netting a season-high 10 points. She scored seven points in the first quarter before adding a three-pointer in the second half.

The win proved to be Richmond’s eighth of the season, all of which have come against non-conference opponents. Wall was quick to credit her teammates in the win, saying the collectiveness of the team allowed her the chance to score down low.

Wall followed up her season-high performance with seven more points against Jack Britt a night later. Although Richmond would lose by double figures, Wall was effective in keeping the game close in the first half, scoring five points early on.

Head coach Teddy Moseley utilizes Wall’s speed and awareness on defense, inserting her into the starting lineup in every game this season.

The Lady Raiders will return to action on Tuesday at Hoke County High School in search of their first Sandhills Athletic Conference win. Tipoff will begin at 6 p.m.
