ROCKINGHAM — Billy Ray Kirk, 76, of Rockingham, went to his heavenly home on Sunday, Jan. 27, 2019.
Mr. Kirk was born Aug. 18, 1942 in Richmond County, a son of the late Ernest and Annie Mae Walters Kirk. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and had retired from CP&L where he had been plant manager at the Blewett Falls and Tillery plants.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Brenda King Kirk; sons, Darrell Kirk (Karen) of Ellerbe and Russell Kirk (Kelly) of Rockingham; grandchildren, Lindsey Kirk Roberts (Matthew), Ben Kirk, Alex Kirk and Tyler Kirk; great-grandchildren, Shelby, Harrison, Violet and Mia Roberts; brothers, Eddie Kirk (Mary) and Tim Kirk (Connie) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Main officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will see friends from 1:45-2:45 p.m. Thursday at the church and at other times at the home.
