HAMLET — Catherine Grace Waldo, 24, of Hamlet, passed away Thursday, March 17, 2022 at her home.
She was born Feb. 21, 1998 in Pitt County, a daughter of Freddie Waldo and Austin Millson Quick.
Catherine was a beautiful soul with vivacious spirit. “Always a social butterfly.” She was surrounded by a multitude of close friends throughout her adolescence and young adult life. The past two years she had shifted her energy and focus to doting on her daughter, Violet, who brought her much joy.
Cat was always up for an adventure and could be counted on to bring some carefree fun into any gathering. While she was a homebody, the only place she loved more was the beach. She spent much time with her family at the coast and it will be a place that will always hold beautiful memories.
While her life has been cut short unexpectedly, we know that her spirit will live on with her daughter, Violet, and that she would want us to live each day to the fullest and love each other unconditionally.
She was preceded in death her paternal grandfather Alfred Owen Waldo III.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Hamlet with the Rev. Bill Monroe officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Co. Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. prior the service at the funeral home.
Surviving, her daughter, Violet Amora Clark of the home; mother, Austin Millson Quick of Hamlet; father, Freddie Waldo and stepmother Susan of Ayden; stepfather, Doug Quick of Hamlet; brother, Edwin Waldo and fiancé Stephanie Crawford of Hamlet; maternal grandparents, Colie and Cathy “Nana” Millson; paternal grandmother, Chong Suk Reynolds; siblings, Allie Waldo, Waverly Waldo, Amelia Pearson, Tyler Moore, Nathan Moore, Aaron Moore, Isaac Sheldon, John Quick and Casey Quick; aunt, Wanda Revels; nephew, Oliver Edwin Waldo.
