ROCKINGHAM — David Arnold Roberts, 67, of Rockingham, went to be with his Lord Thursday, Aug. 19, 2021 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro.
He was a lifelong resident of Richmond County, born Nov. 15, 1953, son of David Bruce Roberts and Eunice Deese Roberts.
Arnold was owner/operator of Arnold’s Automotive in Rockingham. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of AMVETS, and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, an usher, deacon and former Sunday school teacher. He was a member of Richmond County Gideons, Handyman Church Ministry, volunteered at the local soup kitchen and went on church missionary trips to Haiti and Honduras. He was a true example of a servant, always ready and willing to serve others.
A visitation will be held at Pine Grove Baptist, 275 Airport Road, Rockingham, on Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021, from 2-3 p.m.
The funeral will begin at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Carl Moree officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park, Rockingham.
Arnold was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patsy Roberts; and a brother, Bruce Edwin Roberts.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Grant Roberts of the home; daughters, Heather Leigh Wooden (Dale) Virginia Beach, Virginia, Janet Michelle Dixon of Rockingham and Jessica Roberts Gregory (Robert) of Hamlet; son, David Sidney Roberts of the home; sisters, Betty Roberts Chavis of Hamlet, Jean Peele of Sunset Beach and Millie Boyd (Bob) of Hamlet; and eight grandchildren.
