WALLACE, S.C. — Doris Rogers Lesesne,72, of Wallace, South Carolina, formerly of Rockingham, passed away Friday, July 17, 2020 surrounded by her family.
She was born in Richmond County, a daughter of the late Robert Thomas Rogers and Virginia Bowers Linker.
Mrs. Lesesne graduated from the nursing program at Richmond Community College. She was a Registered Nurse at Hamlet Hospital for 30 years and a member of Garden Road Independent Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Kent Rogers.
Funeral services will be held at Garden Road Independent Baptist Church Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery in Ellerbe.
Surviving: a son, Wesley C. Lesesne Sr. of Rockingham; a daughter, Joanna C. Lesesne of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; a brother, Jerry Rogers Sr. (Melinda) of Wallace; a sister, Janice Chavis of Rockingham; grandchildren, Courtney C. Lesesne, Peter C. Lesesne II and Wesley C. Lesesne Jr.; nieces, Priscilla Ann Rogers, Gina Chavis, Lynn Roscoe, Virginia Ann Rogers and Elizabeth Baird; nephews, Walter Chavis Jr., Ronnie Wayne Chavis, Robbie Shankle, Billy Rogers, Michael Rogers and Jerry Rogers Jr.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Garden Road Independent Baptist Church with limited number of people in the church at a time. We will be encouraging social distancing and please wear a mask.
