Harold Dean Ivey

ROCKINGHAM — Harold Dean Ivey, 78, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2021 at his home.

He was born June 2, 1943 in Robeson County, a son of the late Harold Lloyd and Ruby Barnes Ivey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dean “Bub” Ivey; and his in-laws, Tom and Geneva Lunceford.

Mr. Ivey graduated from Rockingham High School in 1962 and retired from Owens-Illinois. He was a member of East Rockingham Freewill Baptist Church and really enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandsons. His hobbies included watching NASCAR, baseball, and History and Discovery channels. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan and was excited to see them win the World Series this year. He loved cars — old and new. He also loved the beach and his granddogs.

A graveside service will be Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Richmond Co. Memorial Park with the Rev. Johnny Johnson officiating.

Surviving, his wife 54 years, Faye L. Ivey of Rockingham; a daughter, Kim Adams and husband Bill of Rockingham; grandchildren, Conner Adams, Carsen Adams, and Austen Adams and fiancé Julie Anna Jones; a sister, Bobbie Jean Franklin of Graham; special aunt, Phyllis Benton of Lumberton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home in Rockingham prior to the graveside service.
