ELLERBE — James Franklin Melton Jr. 67, of Ellerbe, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2019 at his home.
Mr. Melton was born Aug. 17, 1951 in Richmond County, a son of the late James Franklin and Ruby Carlisle Melton. He was a member of the Ellerbe Lions Club and for over 50 years he worked in marine upholstery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Gail and Ginger Melton.
Surviving are his wife, Kristy Lee; children, James F. Melton III (Rebekah) of Ruskin, Florida, and Shannon Melton of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren, Maria Melton of Ocala, Florida, Crystal Lee of Orlando, Florida; and brothers, Chuck Melton (Cindy) of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Wayne Melton (Jackie) of Zephyrhills, Florida.
There will be a gathering of friends with a potluck dinner at the home on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2019 beginning at 1 p.m.
Memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
