Joni Phillips Sigmon

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Joni Phillips Sigmon, 69 of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, passed away on Dec. 12, 2020.

Joni was born on Aug. 1, 1951 in Richmond County, the daughter of the late John Marshall Phillips and Frances Wittman Phillips.

Joni retired from Duke Energy and was also a N.C. real estate broker. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and grew up in St. James Catholic Church in Hamlet.

Joni loved racing, going to the beach, Carolina Panthers football and her family.

She is survived by her husband, Howard Michael Sigmon; sister, Sylvia McSwain (Mike), a brother, Tony Phillips; several nieces and nephews; stepson, Matthew Sigmon; stepgrandaughter Valeri Sigmon; and brother-in-law Terry Sigmon.

A funeral mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at St. James Catholic Church. Preceding the mass, she will lie in state at the church from noon until 1 p.m.; friends and family are invited to see her during this time. Burial will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
