ROCKINGHAM — Mary Reaves Short, 76, of Rockingham, passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.
She was born Nov. 4, 1945 in Richmond County, daughter of the late Charlie S. Reaves and Mary Blue.
She was a supervisor in manufacturing for many years and also worked for INA Bearing, Cheraw, South Carolina.
Mrs. Short was a very giving, selfless and caring person who would go above and beyond for her family as well as for her friends. She loved visiting the mountains and the beach. Her great-grandchildren were her pride and joy and she spent her last years loving them.
She was predeceased by her parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Outlaw; and brothers, Rudolph Reaves and Horace Reaves.
She is survived by her daughters, Tina Outlaw (Jack) of Rockingham, Donna Norton of Hamlet, and Rhonda Clark of Holden Beach; grandchildren, Tiffany Clark, Alycia Clark, Dustin Bledsoe and Landon Clark; special great-grandchildren, Paxton Clark, Jayleigh Clark and Axel Outlaw; brothers, Billy Reaves of Mauldin, South Carolina, and Joe Reaves (Christine) of Rockingham; sisters, Anne Kirkley of Hamlet, Joann Mauldin of Hamlet, and Margaret Richardson of Kansas; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Harrington Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Ernie Walters officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park.
