ROCKINGHAM — Norma Faye Simmons Gomiller, 67, of Rockingham passed away on Feb. 9, 2022 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Norma was born on March 3, 1954 in Columbus County, a daughter of the late Roy Barden and Genevive Ward Simmons.
Norma enjoyed time with her family and especially her great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Robert Lee Collins Jr., Jerry Shane Robinson; brother, Roger Simmons; and sister, Linda Stalely.
Surviving are her husband Joseph Gomiller; stepchildren Wanda K. McDaniel and Joseph Gomiller III (Pat); grandchildren, Cassie Collins, Christopher Collins, Heaven Black, Joseph Gomiller IV, Dylan Gomiller, Melissa, Michelle,Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Caiden Collins, Calum Collins, Lauren Black, Aaliyah Black, Kaylin, Landon, Alissa, Devon, Emily, Hannah; and two great-great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Shelby Peele and Virginia Todd.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022 at 2 p.m. in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Peacock officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 12:45–1:45 at the funeral home prior to the service.
