Carrie Lynn Thorpe Mabe, 45, of Ellerbe, completed her earthly journey on Saturday, Jan. 20, 2024.
Carrie was born June 25, 1978 in Richmond County, a daughter of Vicky Clark Thorpe Schaner and the late William Bryan Thorpe.
She was a graduate of Richmond Senior High School, a member of Ellerbe Fellowship Baptist Church and worked in home health care as a caregiver. Her world was her children. She had a huge heart, made a big impact on many people’s lives and will be truly missed.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, William and Elda Thorpe; and her mother- and father-in-law, Mike and Becky Mabe.
Surviving are her children, Joshua and Gracie Mabe; her husband, Greg Mabe; stepdaughter, Amber Mabe Webster (Jeremy) and their son, Jedd; mother, Vicky Clark Schaner; sisters, Teri Thorpe and Cassidy Patterson; grandmother, Linda Clark; uncle, William “Bryce” Thorpe (Merralle); aunt, Annette Hyder (Donnie); nieces and nephew, Elissa Dixon, Savannah Chance and Hunter Dixon; and stepmother, Pamela S. Thorpe.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2024 at Roberdel Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Ellerbe Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5–7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, 2024 at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham and at other times at the home.
