OBITUARY: Donna Joyce Watson Chambers

Mrs. Donna Joyce Watson Chambers left this earthly world for her heavenly home on Feb 10. 2024 at Hospice Haven.

Donna was born on Oct. 21, 1946 in Richmond County, to the late Cecil Mills and Mary (Mae) Frances Barber Watson.

Donna was married for 53 years to Larry G. Chambers until his death in 2022. They had one son, Larry G. Chambers Jr., who passed away in 2016 while living in Wilmington. He was only 43 years old. He would always be the biggest part of Donna’s heart.

Donna worked a few short jobs over her lifetime, but considered herself mainly a wife, mom and homemaker. She enjoyed taking care of her husband and son throughout her married life. Donna took pride in decorating their homes as Larry’s job moved them from town to town during their married years. She made sure her family had a home to be proud of and to call their own by adding her special touches for each one.

Donna had hobbies that gave her great pleasure also. She loved gardening, especially growing her tomatoes and her beautiful flowers. Her yard would be glowing with different colors of flowers in the spring and summer months. She also had a green thumb at growing her potted plants that decorated the inside of her home. Donna loved the family trips to the beach during the summer months. The beach was a big part of her younger years.

Donna loved her Chihuahua dogs too. She owned many over her lifetime, but only one at a time, so each dog would get all her love at their special time with her.
