Mickey Wayne Scott, 80, of Rockingham, passed away Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 at Hospice Haven in Rockingham.
Mr. Scott was born Aug. 1,1943 in Richmond County, a son of the late Willie James and Ila Mae Lovette Scott.
He was an autobody repairman, working for himself and other companies, the last being Gardner Body Shop in Charlotte. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Karen Lovin and Billy Scott.
Surviving are his wife, Andrea Bradley Scott; sons, Wayne, Tony, Jim and Otto; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Teena Thurman.
A service to celebrate his life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 at Mount Carmel Free Will Baptist Church Outdoor Shelter with the Rev. Eddie Hildreth officiating. The family requests those in attendance dress casually.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Richmond County Hospice, 1119 U.S. Hwy 1 N, Rockingham, NC 28379.
