HAMLET — Monnie Rose Robson Willoughby, 68, of Hamlet, passed away on Aug. 30 at Richmond Hospice Haven.
She was born on Sept. 25, 1953 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, a child of the late Colie and Eliza English Robson.
She was retired as a freight handler with the textile industry. Monnie loved spending time with her grandchildren and crocheting.
Monnie is survived by her husband of 49 years, Johnny Willoughby; her daughter, Dana W. Thomas and Joshua of Hamlet; her siblings, J.C. Robson of Bennettsville, South Carolina, Helen Herndon of Hamlet, Donnie Robson and Barbara of Ellerbe, Marshall Robson and Lisa of Chesterfield, South Carolina; and grandchildren Aiden Thomas, Ben Thomas, Emma Clancy-Thomas, Tullis Clancy-Thomas and Hadley Rose Thomas.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Helms, Elaine Robson, Deane Robson; and her brother, Melvin Robson.
A service of celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, 2022 in the Colonial Chapel of Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham with the Rev. Donnie Robson officiating. Interment will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends on Thursday Sept. 1, 2022 from 6–8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
