Nora Elizabeth Speight Stone, 91, of Rockingham, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Aug. 25, 2024 at McLeod Hospice in Florence, South Carolina.
Mrs. Stone was born Feb. 26, 1933 in Richmond County, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Eli Ashworth and Rosa Terry Speight.
She was a member of Highland Acres Church of God (now Abundant Life Church) and had retired from Abbott Laboratories in Laurinburg.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 Years, Charles Robert Stone; and siblings, Harvey, E.A., Jr., Brady and Charles Speight, Ruth Swails and Louise Covington.
She is survived by her children, Cindy King (Danny), Lynn Wise (Ray) and Amy Carlyle (Don); grandchildren, Heath Stone (Christie), Brooke Martin (Wade), Andrew Ross (Jen), Tyler Ross (Lauren) and Daryl Carlyle (Kristen); great-grandchildren, Jordan Stone, Cadie Stone, Tiffany Martin, Kailee Martin, Jaxon Carlyle, Adeline Ross and another on the way; brother, Glenn Speight; brother-in-law, Horace Swails; and sister-in-law, Mary Stone.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024 at Abundant Life Church with Pastor Eston Bailey and the Rev. Joe B. Wilkes Jr. officiating. Interment with remarks from Pastor Opie Swails will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.
The family will greet friends from 1:45–2:45 p.m. Thursday at the church.
