Peggy K. Rankin, 88, of Hamlet, passed away on July 13, 2023 in the comfort of her home surrounded by family and friends.
She was born Aug. 20, 1934, in Robbins. She was the daughter of the late Mack and Myrtle Kennedy.
She was a member of Fellowship United Methodist Church of Hamlet where she loved her church and was active in United Methodist Women. She retired from her Style Beauty Salon in Hamlet after decades of serving the community.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her late husband (Tom) was the love of her life and soulmate for more than 59 years. Her family was her pride and joy and enjoyed spending time together.
Surviving are her daughter, Phyllis Kinard (Edwin) of Hamlet, one son, Larry T. Rankin (Heidi) of Charlotte; grandchildren, Heather Larsen (Will) of Greenville, Sheresa Divens (Johnathan) of Jacksonville, Florida, Kaelah McNamara (Carson) of Kings Mountain, Jacob Rankin (Jessica) of Charlotte, Joshua Rankin (Haley) of Hendersonville; great-grandchildren, Thomas and Kennedy Larsen of Greenville; three great-grandchildren, Thomas and Kennedy Larson and Rhea Divens; one sister, Linda Williams (Paul) of Greensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wants to extend much gratitude to Richmond County Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the Rankin home in Hamlet.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday July 22, 2023 at Richmond County Memorial Park with the Rev. Dan Blair officiating.
