Robert Hix Pait, 76, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on Jan. 29, 2024.
Robert is survived by his wife of 53 years, Toni; and three daughters, Nicole Allamon (Chris) of St. Augustine, Florida, Beth Jackson (Jeremy) of St. Augustine, Florida, and Emily Pait of Lexington, Kentucky. Robert was a proud grandfather to five grandchildren, Kyle Holsclaw Jr., Jacob Jackson, Marissa Jackson, Ava Allamon and Charlotte Allamon.
Robert was born in Hamlet as the youngest of four children to Richard and Nancy Pait. He is survived by siblings Richard Pait Jr. of Hamlet, and Carol Christenbury of Cary.
He is predeceased by his brother, Russell Pait of Hamlet.
A graduate of Pembroke University with a major in History, Robert was an avid fisherman, gardener, hunter and diver. He was a lifelong fan of the Carolina Tar Heels. He will be remembered for his witty sense of humor that always had his grandchildren laughing.
The family wishes to honor Robert’s passing with a Celebration of Life to be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at noon at the First United Methodist Church of Hamlet, 300 Charlotte St., Hamlet, NC 28345.
The family requests, instead of flowers, that a donation be made in honor of Robert’s family church to the First United Methodist Church of Hamlet.
