Thomas Connor

ROCKINGHAM — Thomas Allen Connor, 75, passed away Saturday, Nov. 9 at his residence in Rockingham.

He was born March 18,1944 in Thomasville to the late Glenn and Dovie Connor.

He had been in the wholesale and auction business for 45 years and was known by many in the community as “T.C.” or “Honest Tom;” he had a strong interest in racing and wrestling, as well as being an avid Carolina basketball fan. He was a member of Roberdel Baptist Church for over 20 years and was a generous, friendly, and funny person who loved people.

He is survived by Virginia Connor, his wife of 50 years. He is also survived by son Thomas Allen Connor Jr., daughters Betty Gallo McIntyre, Linda DeMercer (Neal), and stepson Rodney Peterson (Nina). He was preceded in death by sister Ruby Jane Connor and survived by sisters Brenda Wood, Wilma Fuquay, Patsy Allred (Jimmy), Zona Connor and Sharon Wilson (Jerry); brothers Earl Connor (Louise), Phil Connor (Carolyn), and Kenneth Connor. He is also survived by grandchildren Rachel Peterson, Josh Peterson, Tosha Johnson, Jessica O’Neal, Terry Burge Jr., Amber Chavis, Breanna Connor, Violet Connor, and Christopher Connor, as well as five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Services will be held Saturday, Nov. 16, 2019 at Roberdel Baptist Church with visitation from 1-3 p.m. and the memorial service immediately following. 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be sent to Roberdel Baptist Church in appreciation for all they have done for the family. The church is located at 1118 Richmond Road, Rockingham, NC 28379.
