William Edward Graham Jr.

ROCKINGHAM — William Edward Graham Jr., 75, of Rockingham, passed away Saturday, Nov. 17, 2018 at his home.

 Mr. Graham was born Nov. 21, 1942 in Marlboro County, South Carolina, a son of the late William Edward and Jane Allen Graham. He was a member of First Assembly in Rockingham.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force, retiring as senior master sergeant and later retired from NASA. He received the following medals: Meritorious Service Medal w/ one device, AF Commendation Medal, AF Achievement Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal w/ six devices, Small Arms Expert Rifle, AF Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Military Education Ribbon w/ one device, AF Longevity Service Ribbon w/ four devices, National Defense Service Medal, AF Overseas Service Long Tour Ribbon w/ two devices, AF Overseas Service Short Tour Ribbon, AF Training Ribbon, Vietnam Service Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award w/ five Devices, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ one device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Joint Unit Citation.

Surviving are his wife, Brenda Hinson Graham; children, Angela Cocketon (Mark) of Hamlet, Honey Tyndall (Scott) of Yorktown, Virginia, and William E. Graham III (Jane) of Seaford, Virginia; grandchildren, Melanie (Josh), Alex (Jackeline), Christina (David), Michael, Jennifer, Samuel, Isaiah, Grace, Ezekiel and Jeremiah; great-grandson Waylon; a sister, Merrie Dawkins of Rockingham and his faithful companion Cooper.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018 at First Assembly of God with the Rev. Gene Alexander officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Richmond County Memorial Park.

The family will see friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Carter Funeral Home in Rockingham.
