HAMLET — As the summer sun sets at Main Street Park on Friday, the Beach Fever Band will take the stage.
This will be the third installment of the Seaboard City’s Boxcar Concert Series.
The Beach Fever Band has been performing across the region for the past several years, with their first show at the Berry Patch in March of 2021 and subsequent shows in Richmond County at Hudson Brothers Deli and the inaugural Shagging for Our Soldiers at VFW Post 4203.
The Beach Fever lineup includes bassist Gary Raines and guitarist Carl Giddens, both of Rockingham; Kevin Parrish of Hamlet on vocals, saxophone and guitar; drummer NiQuan Sims of Maxton; and Laurinburg’s Zachary Kendall on vocals, keyboard, trumpet, trombone — and occasionally guitar and drums.
Sims recently became a brand ambassador for Collison Drumsticks.
The Boxcar Concert Series started on Sunday afternoons in 2022, but was moved to Friday evenings the following year to coincide with TGIFriday Food Trucks on Main.
The line up for the food trucks, which will be across the street in the Depot parking lot, include: Burger Bros; Mama Blair’s; Tacos Mr. Pancho; Alford’s Smoke and Grill; Big D’s Mini Donuts; and Puckered Up Lemonade.
The 2024 Boxcar Concert Series kicked off in April with the Jonathan Robinson Band, followed by 2nd Chance Ministries in May.
