ROCKINGHAM — A Hamlet-area woman is facing more than a dozen felony counts in a fraud investigation by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.
Rebecca Jean Jamison, 45, is accused of falsely making and forging checks from the insurance companies Humana and Prudential — totaling more than $5,800 — and cashing them at ServU Federal Credit Union.
The incident date is listed as Nov. 3-5, 2025.
The arrest warrants were issued May 12, charging Jamison with seven felony counts each of uttering a forged instrument and obtaining property by false pretenses.
Jamison was arrested May 15 and booked into the Richmond County Jail on a combined $15,000 secured bond. She is scheduled to appear in court May 28.
Online court records show Jamison also has a pending traffic citation from 2025.
She appears to have no prior convictions in the state.
All defendants facing criminal charges are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
