HAMLET POLICE: 2 homes shot into, 1 person injured

HAMLET — Police are investigating two early morning shootings Tuesday that appear to be related.

The first shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. Sept. 22. That’s when investigators say someone shot into a home on Oak Avenue from outside.

One victim was struck in the back, according to Capt. Randy Dover.

The victim was airlifted to an undisclosed hospital and is recovering from the injury, Dover said.

The second shooting happened around 4:15 a.m. in the Briarwood community.

Dover said there were no injuries, but a home was shot into.

He said both incidents appear to be connected.

The investigation is ongoing.
