HAMLET — After taking a break during the summer heat, the Boxcar Concert Series returned for a rocking night at Main Street Park.
Eck and the Radio, featuring members from Randolph and Chatham counties, performed a two-hour set of older country and rock hits from Elvis and Buck Owens — and a rockabilly rendition of Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance.”
Rockingham native Erik Hawks will perform next month.
Hawks opened for Bucky Covington at Rockingham’s SpringFest in April and performed at Rockingham Dragway in June.

Local cover band The Safety Committee opened the 2023 season in April, followed by Hamlet native Jonathan Robinson, and regional gospel group 2nd Chance Ministries in June.
